I feel like we are living in the midst of the Me Generation. My concern lies in the fact that everything has become so much “me, me, me.” People are focused on themselves and saying, “It’s all about me. What do I get? I deserve reparations. What free housing and free education should I get? What gender shall I be?” And I think it is unfortunate because this attitude has come about by a perversion of our American values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These principles were intended to create a country that was focused on justice and righteousness, both in the government and with the individuals who participated in it. As much as you were driven for your personal life and liberty, you were also driven for that of your neighbor’s. It had more of the concept that we find in the Scriptures that you love your neighbor as yourself and that you give to your neighbor (Leviticus 19:18; Matthew 5:42).

We have seen generation after generation in this country with service men and women literally laying their lives down for the liberty and happiness of others. But our American concepts of life and liberty have been twisted and perverted into that which makes it be “all about me.” Whenever you are focused on yourself—no matter how simple it seems—you by definition are taking away from others. So today we accomplish the rights and liberties for ourselves by taking away the rights and liberties of others. I do not know what else to call it other than a perversion.

This selfish paradigm is absolutely in conflict with what God is trying to do in these last days to manifest His Kingdom on earth. We need to understand that God’s Kingdom is about Christ’s eternal reign as “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16).¹ It is about the will of the Father being done on earth as it is in heaven. God’s eternal reign will have all things in subjection to Himself—that He might fill all things and be worshipped and served by His creation because He is our Creator. We were created to serve and worship God. Christ’s purpose in bringing salvation was to bring His Lordship and His dominion as the King. Yeshua (Jesus) is seated at the right hand of the Father and will reign until every enemy is brought into subjection to His Lordship (Psalm 110:1–2).

The very premise of the Kingdom is that there is something greater than you. The focus of eternity is not about you. The truth is that God is your Creator. He created your gender, your gifts, your talents, and your enabling. He is the One who gives you free choice. You do not give yourself free choice. It was something given. So again, all these things are very concerning to me. Our original goals in America were based on the fact that people lived with a Judeo-Christian morality. Without these morals, the thinking has been perverted into this idea that it is all about me. But everything will be brought into subjection to Yeshua and His Lordship (1 Corinthians 15:25). The Lord will break the deception and judge the principalities that are set to see this generation destroyed. Remember, “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against … the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). We must see things change and see the Kingdom manifested on this earth.
