Thankfulness Unleashes God’s Power

Thankfulness is literally the foundation of our walk with God. It is what everything else really rests upon. If we just relate to experiences, we lose that ongoing moment-by-moment sense of thankfulness for what God has done or is doing for us. So Lord, restore to us the joy of Your salvation as David talks about (Psalm 51:12). Let there be something very real that we tap into because as simplistic as this seems, our thankfulness unleashes the power of God. We are to have power in our faith. And God wants to restore something for us that will literally bring back into our lives the power of His Spirit that comes through us as His sons.

Yeshua (Jesus) came to give us access to the Father and to restore us in a relationship to the Father. Every blessing being beamed toward us is from the Father, so we must come into Him. God is a spirit, but you have a spirit. So your spirit is absolutely capable of simply relating to God and having a relationship with Him—and you can live in that place. Say, “Father, I am immersed in You. I melt into You in love.” Just picture yourself standing before His face melting back and forth with Him in His love. We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). As you stand before Him, He loves you. And what do you do? You love Him back with the love that you received; then He loves you again. You can receive more and more as you open up to His great love and stand there with the Father. As you immerse your spirit into Him and live in Him, the rest of your being will catch up. If you have problems with your health, immerse yourself in Him. God has no problem with health issues, and in all these years He has never grown a day older. If we immerse ourselves into what He is, then what happens? We take that on. While beholding Him, we are changed from glory to glory into that same image (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Paul reminds us that our God and Father “has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3).[1] Yeshua said, “All things that the Father has are Mine” (John 16:15). Everything in Christ is being beamed toward you. He has everything; He is everything. Can we really fathom that? God has blessed you and is blessing you with every spiritual blessing. That is amazing! And we have the ability to flow into Him. How do you get it? You melt into Him in love. Say, “I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because Christ is in me. The Holy Spirit is in me; therefore, I have every spiritual blessing.”

What better way to behold the Father than to immerse yourself in all that He is? Beholding the fullness of God is not just seeing it. It is feeling it and having every one of your senses involved. You become what you are immersed into as your spirit is just absorbing, absorbing, absorbing all that He is. For in Christ dwells all the fullness of God (Colossians 2:9). As you begin to believe this, you will soon transition into an expression of thankfulness. Because if you really believe you have this, you are going to walk around saying, “O Lord, thank You! Thank You! Thank You! This is amazing. Everything You are I am going to get and that is why I am so thankful.”
