The prophet Daniel had a dream about the end-time. He recognized that when satan comes, “he will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One” (Daniel 7:25).[1] The Hebrew name that Daniel used here for “the Most High” is Elyon. It is one of the beautiful names of God. So you might try using it in your prayers because when you talk to Elyon, you are talking to the Highest God, the Supreme One. You are exalting Him. There are a lot of things out there in the spirit realm, but Elyon is the Highest One. So you can see how Daniel positioned himself in that place of authority, and we should do the same.

In contrast, satan speaks out against the Most High and paints God in a bad light. And when he lies about God, he wears out the saints. It is one and the same thing. Why? Because all that we are is dependent upon God being Elyon. There is nothing more depressing than the feeling of not having God on your side or that God will not come through. It causes you to lose your faith and confidence, which brings a depression and a feeling that God is not going to move on your behalf. What follows is that you have wrong thoughts about yourself. You begin to think, “I’m nothing.” If satan can paint God in the light of a lie, your strength is taken away because all the negative thoughts about yourself begin to come through. That is what it means to be worn out: you have no energy, no strength, and no ability. The fact that our Father is the Great Most High God is where we get our identity. But you cannot hold on to your identity if you are buying into the lie or the accusation that satan brings about God.

When you go through things about yourself, you start getting into conflicts with those around you. That is because our strength, our oneness, and our ability to see each other correctly is by virtue of believing in who God says we are. You love your neighbor as yourself (Leviticus 19:18; Mark 12:31). But if you are not loving yourself, do not pretend that you are loving your neighbor. You are not. You started with a problem about you, which started with a problem about the Father and who He really is. So if satan lies to you about God, he sets in motion spiritually a whole chain of effects that takes you out completely. Satan is a lie, and he works through lies. When you think about it, the Kingdom of God is a war of words. It is God’s Word against satan’s word. Honestly, it is no more complicated than that, so do not get drawn into satan’s lies and discouragement.

Remember, you have the greatest treasures in the world dwelling in your heart: you have a Word from God, you have the Holy Spirit, and you have Yeshua (Jesus) the Anointed One all dwelling in you. So how bad can things be? Let us exercise what we have. Start thinking about the good things, the pure things, the true things (Philippians 4:8). Focus on the truth of what God has done and what He is doing in your midst. Begin to speak the truth. Create it and release it by faith in the name of the Lord.
