People are being shaken and facing many difficulties, and I believe that we will see more things happening. As we come to the time of the Kingdom, we find that God is shaking all things that can be shaken (Hebrews 12:25–29). This is to be expected because only those things that are eternal will remain in God’s Kingdom. We should be asking the Lord, “Shake all things. Shake away from me the bondages of everything that is not going to be part of Your Kingdom.” If we attach ourselves to that which is unshakeable, these days will be much simpler for us, and we will be able to help others through them.
We already know that through our salvation we ourselves are eternal. So do not panic over the shaking that comes. Your life in Christ is an eternal life (John 3:16). That must be real to you. Look at yourself in the mirror and say, “You are an eternal creation of God. You have eternal life, and that life can never be taken away; it can never be shaken.” So let us look at some key Scriptures that will help you.
John 5:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death [out of shaking] into life.
John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”
John 17:3, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
Our life is going to be in His eternity. Our mortal bodies are going to be swallowed up by an immortal body. We cannot worry about the things that we are going through now on a physical level. We know these things will pass away, and we look to be clothed with that which is swallowed up by life (2 Corinthians 5:1–4).
The next thing we must realize is that God Himself, including the name of God, is permanent and everlasting. He will never be shaken.
Psalms 102:12, “But You, O LORD, abide forever, and Your name to all generations.”
Psalm 9:7–10. “But the LORD abides forever; He establishes His throne for judgment, and He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble; and those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
God is eternal. His name is eternal. And He exists eternally as a stronghold for us in times of trouble. So what do we do in times of shaking? We grab hold of Him. Do not be holding on to things that will be shaken away, things that are not eternal. God is permanent. He is forever, and He is a stronghold and a dwelling place for us. The eternal God is our dwelling place and underneath are the everlasting arms (Deuteronomy 33:27). If we dwell in Him, we will not be shaken.
