Worship That Brings His Presence

Yeshua (Jesus) taught His disciples to pray, “Our Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9), and heaven is where our focus should be as well. The prayer life of most believers has been good, but God wants to replace it with the best. So He showed me that as we move into the spirit realm, a door is opening where a deeper level of worship will replace how we have used prayer and intercession in the past. This means a new level of worship beyond what we have known. As Yeshua said, we are to take the initiative to go into our “inner room” to be where He is (Matthew 6:6) and dwell in the heavens with Him.

“Where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3).

If we are those charged with bringing the Kingdom of God to earth, then we need to be familiar with it. We need to be those who dwell in the heavens with Him. Therefore, the Lord is bringing us to the reality of living in the spirit realm, of being a spiritual people. We must have that ability because God Himself is spirit (John 4:24). You might ask, “How do we become a spiritual people?” The key is worship, because true worship only works from a place of spirit. When we sing in tongues, we are literally singing in the spirit because the gift of tongues is speaking in a heavenly language.

“But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:23–24).

We must worship in spirit and in truth. There is only one way to worship God and that is with our spirits. We need to be functioning in our spirits. Paul wrote, “I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also (1 Corinthians 14:15). This exercise of your spirit, which through Christ has been made alive to God, is preparation for you to move into a spiritual relationship with the Lord. It may seem difficult, but you have a spirit and your spirit is alive; therefore, you have the same makeup as God. He created you in His image so the very image of God resides in your spirit (Genesis 1:26).

“And you will seek Me, and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).

Have you ever wondered what God does all day? He looks for a people to be His worshipers. The Father seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Even if I don’t think I can find Him, I can trust that He will find me. When we joyfully worship Him, our worship does more than bring releases or healings; it brings restoration to the earth. In our worship we will release all creation from futility (Romans 8:19-21). So the outcome of us becoming spiritual worshipers is that He comes and dwells with us here on the earth. God dwells in the worship of His people. If we move into His presence in our worship, He will move into us. Then we will see the fulfillment of all He has spoken to our hearts in His Word.
