You know that “God sits on His holy throne” (Psalms 47:8),[i] but I want you to recognize that our hearts are His throne room. Christ dwells in and among each one of us: “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst” (Matthew 18:20). In your worship, picture the Majestic One dwelling in you and taking up His throne in your heart. Distractions may come to try to disconnect you from your awareness that Christ, Yeshua Messiah, is abiding in you. But do not accept anything that makes you feel unworthy or question, “How can these things be?” Instead, say like Mary, “May it be done to me according to your word” (Luke 1:38). Consider what Isaiah prophesied and humble your heart to receive the fullness of your Father in all His majesty:
For thus says the high and exalted One
Who lives forever, whose name is Holy,
“I dwell on a high and holy place,
And also with the contrite and lowly of spirit
In order to revive the spirit of the lowly
And to revive the heart of the contrite.”
Isaiah 57:15
In John 17, Yeshua asked the Father to sanctify His disciples by the Word of truth—as well as all those who believed their words, which includes the entire family of God. Christ prayed, “That they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us” (John 17:21). God is coming to take up His abode in you, and by His mercy you are made one with Him and with the entire Body of Christ. By the blood of Yeshua the Anointed One and by His grace, you can declare, “I am the throne room of God! You abide in me and I am one with You, Father, just as Yeshua Messiah is one with You. I open my heart to You.”
In your worship, take down any walls of reluctance and remove your resistance to His mercy and lovingkindness. Allow the Father’s discipline and the work of the cross of Christ to happen in your life (Hebrews 12:5-6). By the blood of Yeshua, you have been made one with your brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. We are one by His sacrifice. Open your heart and accept it today. God is ascending His throne with a shout (Psalm 47:5). So lift up your head and open your gates “that the King of glory may come in!” (Psalm 24:7). Father, I put myself there with You, in the name of Yeshua my King. My heart is Your throne.
