Nothing is stronger than your imagination. You can use your imagination in a very positive sense to bring yourself into the presence of the Lord. Focus on how wonderful He is, how much He loves you, and how He wants to be with you. Read His Word prayerfully and picture yourself walking in it. Clothe yourself with His magnificent promises. See yourself as God’s friend, His servant, and His beloved chosen one.
“But you, Israel, My servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen,
Descendant of Abraham My friend,
You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth,
And called from its remotest parts
And said to you, ‘You are My servant,
I have chosen you and not rejected you.’” (Isaiah 41:8–9)[i]
Imagine yourself anointed by the Spirit of your God and Father, healing people, speaking a word of deliverance, moving in the Spirit of Christ to release all creation. It is not self-confidence; it is anointed imagination that brings you into the throne room of God. “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1). As the Spirit anoints your imagination, your faith reaches into these promises and they become reality in your life. Imagine Yeshua whispering these words to you and let them come alive in your heart: “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full” (John 16:23–24).
I am not talking about living in a fantasy world. Reality is in the realm of spirit and what you see around you is the illusion. Get up each morning and declare, “I am a child of the King. He loves me and I am clothed in His righteousness. Today I will use His signet ring and do business for the King.” The first thing you will discover is that your faith has reached out and given substance and assurance to the things you have hoped for and imagined. Solomon in his great wisdom stated that as a man “thinks within himself, so he is” (Proverbs 23:7). You are what you eat—both on a physical plane and in the realm of spirit. What you meditate on, you become. Not one of us is walking in the potential of what he or she could have in God, so start imagining greater things. Ask large that your joy may be full! Honor Him by your great faith and adoration of all that He wants to be in you and through you.
Paul told Timothy, “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Timothy 4:15 NKJV). Picture yourself moving in Yeshua’s love and compassion to heal others. Read the Gospels and put yourself in His shoes. His Spirit is in you (Acts 16:7). Imagine hearing His voice and let it come alive to you: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father” (John 14:12). It is not a thing of ambition; rather, it is just a glorious oneness with the Lord. Imagine yourself being clothed in His glory and transformed into His image (2 Corinthians 3:18). His promises are for you and they can be a reality in your life!
