Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement, which was the one day a year in ancient Judaism that the high priest was able to enter into the holy of holies, pass through the veil, and go into the presence of God. Then he laid hands on a live goat and put upon it all of the sin and iniquity of Israel—which was led away from the camp and into the wilderness to die. On that day, all sin and iniquity, all wickedness of spirit, soul, and body, was removed from the people of Israel and they had access to the holy of holies. In the same way, we are sanctified through Yeshua, our high priest, who was crucified for us, and now we too can enter into the heavenly presence of God.

The power of the resurrection of Christ includes everything that transpired through the crucifixion and the time he spent in the tomb. The veil in the temple was ripped open for Yeshua to enter into the presence of the Father with His blood to make His sacrifice. Then God raised Him up into the heavenly places and seated Him at His right hand.

In our salvation, we are reconciled to God because our sin has been forgiven. Our relationship with God has reconciled. In our sanctification, Yeshua takes us through the veil, giving us access to the presence of God, and so we are able to enter into the heavenly realms.

Our salvation is total and complete. It goes far beyond the forgiveness of sin and iniquity. Our whole nature of sin is removed and taken away from us and we are changed into His likeness, raised up into His presence, and seated in the heavenly places with Christ in His glory. God grant to us that we lay hold of the Day of Atonement and experience all that He has made available for us.
