During this time of turmoil and political unrest, the United States needs divine intervention. Our Founding Fathers recognized that God gave us favor and established this great nation. But now we are facing an important decision, “Do we live in the blessings, anointings, and great provisions that God has given us, or do we leave Him out of the formula?” We are not praying for one political party or another. Instead, we are believing for a righteous government, one that will be receptive to the Kingdom of God as it transitions to earth. Trust me, there is a will of God for this country and for all the other sheep nations. But if you are just praying for candidates, your focus is too small. Instead, our intercession in the Spirit must bind all the nations of this world over to the perfect will of God.
When God talks about government, He is looking for righteousness and justice. Moses directed the people,
“You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not distort justice; you shall not be partial, and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 16:18-20)[i]
Everything in God’s eyes is about justice.
To provide justice, government leaders must have right motivations with the right level of maturity, good moral standings, and most of all, have come into right relationships with each other because the Kingdom of God is godly relationships. We can find these directives right in the Bible. The purpose of government is to ensure justice for all. As Americans, we claim that in our pledge, “And justice for all.” That is an important quality of a righteous government. God calls Himself a God of justice and is concerned about all aspects of society. Everyone, including the widows and orphans, is to be treated justly. Yeshua (Jesus) is coming to establish His government on earth where He will rule and reign. He is beginning with the Body of Christ and preparing vessels for His new government who will rule in righteousness and justice. He is forming a kingdom of priests to our God who will reign on the earth with Him (Revelation 5:10). Christ is preparing you to govern!
“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations” (Isaiah 42:1).
The highest concept of government is justice for all. People want their rights and I believe in their rights, but no one’s rights should be more promoted above the rights of another. More and more liberty is being restrained. When we see our culture eroding away the foundations of family and moral values, we must recognize that something is wrong. The Jewish nation exists today because of the Sabbath as a true expression of family around the dinner table. In our intercession for this country, we should be praying for family. Government should not be legislating moral values. Instead, our children need to get godly instruction and impartation at home. We have a right to do that because they are our children and part of our families. Movies and television have influenced our young people to the point that many no longer have the perception to recognize the destruction it is bringing to family values and national morality. We need to have the right to teach our children; it is not the right of government to determine how and what they will believe. As the psalmist cries, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom” (Psalm 45:6). Let there be true liberty and justice for everyone.
