This podcast goes deeper into the subject of who was responsible for the crucifixion of Christ. The belief that the Jews killed Christ and deserve to be punished can still be found in Christian doctrines. This deep root of anti-Semitism must be removed. We cannot allow this tree to grow again. We must not leave an open door for Church doctrines and belief systems to build a foundation once again for persecution against the Jewish people.

In part two of this series on the crucifixion, I look at many Scriptures that provide a deeper understanding of three responsible parties in the death of Christ. The third podcast in this series will study the remaining three. The first individual who was culpable in the death of Yeshua (Jesus) was the Father, the Creator of the universe. The death of His Son on the cross was the predestined plan of God to bring about salvation and deliverance for all mankind.

The second individual was Yeshua Himself. He chose to do the will of God, which was to fulfill the prophecies and plan of salvation that God had established. He did this in complete obedience to the Father’s commandment. Yeshua said, “No one takes my life. I lay it down.” In that sense you could say that no one killed Yeshua since He was the one who offered His own life as a sacrifice.

The third entity of culpability in the death of Yeshua was satan, who influenced humans to crucify Him. Satan entered the heart of Judas to betray Christ. We also see the influence of demonic forces throughout the entire crucifixion as people acted out of character to accomplish it. Just as satan influenced Adam and Eve to be disobedient, he influenced people at the time of the crucifixion. This does not clear them of their disobedience, but you cannot remove the reality of the demonic force that was initiating much of the activity.

Takeaways:

It was a requirement that Yeshua suffer and die in substitution for us. It was God’s plan that He be our substitution. Why then would we look for someone to blame for his crucifixion when it was the eternal plan of God and an absolute necessity for forgiveness and grace to be brought to the world?
It is very important for us to recognize that there was never a moment, from the time He was arrested until the time He died on that cross, when Yeshua did not have a choice. For salvation to come, every moment of it had to be according to His will to do the will of the Father.
The biggest mistake that satan ever made was manipulating people through temptation into participation in the crucifixion. God used it to fulfill their part in His plan, but that does not mean they were not sinning. The fact that they were tempted, as mankind has always been tempted, only proves the need for the cross.
