When we come into the biblical feasts, we have an open door in the realm of spirit. God is doing something. The Scriptures call these appointed times. As we enter the prophetic season of the Feast of Trumpets, God gets our attention with the blast of the shofar. “Blow a trumpet in Zion, sound an alarm on my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord is coming. Surely it is near” (Joel 2:1).

The trumpet of God is to get our attention. He wants to wake us up. He is getting ready to speak to His people. In the Book of Revelation, a trumpet blast announces that God is coming to speak. The prophecies that John brought to the seven churches are actually addressed to the church in our day and age. These words must be heeded because we are near the time when these things take place.

When God came on Mount Sinai, He set before Israel a blessing and a curse. And we know that Israel has suffered the consequences of its disobedience through the word of the Lord that was given. For years we have seen the corrective judgments that are from God upon Israel. But in these days when His Kingdom is near, we cannot afford to be similarly put into a correction and receive in ourselves these negative consequences and judgments.

In this season of the Day of Trumpets, let us hear what the Lord Himself is saying to the churches. We are in a time and place where we must hear His voice now. We must understand what He wants us to do and not to do.
